Article Correctness Is Author's Responsibility: New study aims to empower teen girls and young women with choices in HIV prevention

(Microbicide Trials Network) With about 1,000 girls and young women infected with HIV every day in Africa, it is imperative they have access to and can benefit from safe and effective prevention methods. A new study is focusing on two methods -- a daily ARV tablet (PrEP) and a monthly vaginal ring under regulatory review -- and designed to fill important gaps in information about the safety and acceptability of these methods, including in girls as young as 16.
